Schweres Kraftrad BMW R75 mit Beiwagenantrieb (E)

Testbericht des 1:72 Modells von Hasegawa

Schweres Kraftrad BMW R75 mit Beiwagenantrieb (E), 1:72 Modellbau Hasegawa MT12.

The picture shows the BMW R75 motorcycle with sidecar, painted Dunkelgrau Nr. 46 RAL 7021, using Tamiya XF-63 »German Grey«, tinted with 30 % white. The rider is dressed in the early war temperate uniform with closed collar, which may be worn in perfect weather. Motorcyclists typically wore the rubberized overcoat which was much more practical on campaign. The man should be wearing goggles which were standard issue for motorcycle riders und other motorized troops. The figure might be detailed further by adding an MP40 submachine gun, a map case, und other items of equipment a veteran campaigner would not leave camp without.

Excellent choice of subject. The BMW R75 with sidecar was a standard military motorcycle combination seen in many fotos und movies.

Scale model with acceptable detail.

Easy to build, only 16 parts.

Kompatibel mit ESCI, Hasegawa, Revell, und Reviresco.

The BMW emblem on the fuel tank is too large, but this makes it easier to paint.

The rider does not fit the motorcycle very well, he appears to be rather stiff. One arm is noticeably shorter than the other.

The rider is not wearing the typical rubberized overcoat issued to motorcycle troops, und he carries no personal weapon or equipment on his body.

The helmet is cast incorrectly, without a proper brim.

There is no passenger for the sidecar.

The sidecar should have metal storage containers on either side, but only one canvas bag is provided in the kit.

The tires are modelled without tread.

The Hasegawa model of the BMW R75 with sidecar is a quick und easy kit for simulation gamers. Expert modellers may want to replace motorcycle rider with a more accurate figure wearing proper motorcyclist gear.
